Sherman L. Bailey came to the
Chapel Of Prayer Baptist Church.
in 1984. He was called into the ministry in 1972. Pastor
Bailey has served the Lord for 35 years. Originally from DuBois Pennsylvania where he was Pastor of the Community Bible Church
in Rockton just outside of DuBois.
Rev. Bailey is the fourth Minister at the Chapel of Prayer in over 50 years. He teaches the Senior
Saint 10:00 Sunday School, conducts the Traditional 11:00 Sunday morning worship, 6:00 Sunday evening worship, and the 7:00 Wednesday
evening Prayer and Adult Bible study. He has carried on the Southern Gospel style of music and worship. Pastor Bailey has spent
his life working for the Lord.
Under Pastor's ministry, new programs have been added to the Church, such as our Missions ministry,
9:00 Praise & Worship service, Senior Citizen's group, Men's fellowship, AWANA ministry, F.O.R.M., & a Buildng program.
Our Sanctuary was also remodeled under his direction.
His wife, Dr. Pamela Smith Bailey, oversees the History Departmet at "Linden
Hall", an all girl boarding school in Lititz,Pa.
